I have a 15 months old son who does not yet say neither mama, nor dada or daddy. It’s usually a continuous babbling of syllables like da da da or na na na as well as random sounds. He also does not seem to be understanding simple requests. Is it better to do a screening?

My 16 year old has a speak stutter he has had for many years. In doing research I have found that it is not a server stutter but frustrating. He seems to stutter more when he is nervous or excited, funny thing is he can speak in accents, like Scottish, Irish, Russian when he does he does not stutter at all. What is the 1st step to being seen by you?

I have a 13 year old son who did not start speaking on time. He always had a limited vocabulary. Even now at 13 he speaks in riddles he doesn’t use words correctly. He’s been in counseling and sees an occupational Therapist I’ve tried to have him tested for autism but the school won’t do it every year they tell me next year and then switch phychologists so I have to start all over. I haven’t tried speech therapy yet and think he may benefit from it right now we have healthnet. Community care silver but Jan will be getting united Healthcare through my employer.where do I start.

We just moved back to the Tucson area after military moves that had us in Maryland/DC and Texas. My son had seen an wonderful OT in Maryland (in 2018) that worked on his Sensory Processing Disorder and she did wonders for him and he absolutely loved it and would never miss a session. We definitely saw the improvements/gains that came with his therapy sessions. Sadly that same year we had to move to Texas and the referral did not travel with him. We had a hard time getting him re-evaluated I Texas, also with COVID and other life circumstances sadly we weren’t able to continue his treatment plan there, though we believe it was still needed. Now that we are back in Arizona and we finally received the much needed referral for OT; his mom and I researched pediatric OTs in the Tucson area. It was like the stars were aligning finally when we found ‘Therapy Group of Tucson’ the other day and saw your interview on the news discussing SPD. Sadly we can’t get in for an evaluation until March 2022 due to new patient appt availability. The scheduler was very nice and said she’d do everything she could and would keep us in mind for any cancelations and encouraged us to call frequently to see if there are any cancelations which we will do.
Additionally if ya’ll are still looking to expand, I believe you’d find a great need in the Sahaurita/Green Valley area. (Not just because we live down I them parts ?. We hope to get our kiddo into your services soon. The benefits of Pediatric OT/speech therapies are undeniable. Thank you for your time.
